Coral Estate is one of Curacao's most prestigious gated resorts with 24/7 security, located at the South West of the island. It has a 2-mile long coastline on the southwest side and an inland lake with pink flamingos on the north- eastern side.
The coral reef is readily available for diving and snorkeling and can be accessed from Coral Estate Beach, which is in walking distance from Villa Brillante (about 350 yards), just down the street. Here you also find the excellent restaurant Karakter. The beach has very good shore snorkeling and diving.
Coral Estate resort just opened a Spa & Wellness center 8 The Experience. At the big common pool area you can relax at the infinity pool and enjoy delicious cocktails and bites at the rooftop bar Koraal.
Curacao has an uncountable number of beaches in small intimate bays. The most beautiful beaches are located on the western part of the island, very close to Villa Brillante. Playa Porto Marie and playa Daaibooi are within 10 minutes driving distance.
Underwater world and diving
Curacao belongs to the worlds best diving destinations with more that 85 dive sites. Most of the dives sites all over the world are only accessible by boat, while Curacao offers many dive sites that are accessible from the shore. Next to the impressive, healthy coral reef, the underwater world also offers possibilities like wreck diving. The friendly staff of dive school divers republic is very happy to help you with planning you dive.
Along the road to Westpunt there are two national parks, the Christoffelpark and the Shete Boka national park.
Christoffel Park is the largest national park of Curacao and a must see for everyone. The park has a rich variety of local flora and fauna that cannot be found elsewhere on the island. Nature lovers will find the park teeming with local birds and plants, including species, which are not easily seen elsewhere on the island. For example wild orchids, the Palabrua, the rare native barn owl, the Curacao White Tailed deer (of which there are only about 250 left) and much more.
There are eight hiking trails, allowing the visitor the choice between an easy stroll or a challenging hike to the top of the Christoffel mountain. Start early in the morning and take plenty of water with you! Due to the hot weather conditions it is not allowed to start the hike later than 11 am.
Scenic car routes take you through underbush, around hills and across sea swept bluffs. The park also organizes special activities, including safaris, deer watching, animal presentations, cave excursions, a guided park tour and many special trips like occasional full moon walks and sunrise safari’s.
Besides natural riches the park also offer much in the way of culture and history. Plantation Savonet is one of the earliest plantations to be set up on the island and is one of the most complete plantation complexes with structures including the plantation house, store houses, dams, wells and much more. The former plantation house now locates Savonet Museum. This is one of the cultural highlights of Curacao and definitely worth a visit.

Shete Boka national park
Shete Boka national park is an area adjoining the Christoffel Park covering more than 10 kilometers of the rocky wave-exposed north coast of the island and with some 10 pocket beaches where 3 species of sea turtles are known to lay eggs.
The most well-known and favorite inlet for visitors is Boka Tabla.
If you enjoy getting off the beaten track and into rugged countryside, you will love National Park Shete Boka. The park begins at stunning Boka Tabla, where huge waves thunder into an underground cavern. Steps cut into the rocks lead you directly into the mouth of the cavern; you can sit on the very edge and watch the surf roll in. After you peek inside the cavern you can walk along the limestone bluffs above for a spectacular view of Curacaos rugged north coast.
Boka Pistol Trail
1 hour walk leading through Boka Brown where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, to Boka Pistol where huge waves burst into the sky with gunfire like explosions and panoramic overviews from the flat limestone hills. Boka Pistol is one of our personal favorites on the island where we could stand for hours looking for turtles in the sea.
Boka Wandomi Trail
1 hour walk along rolling lava hills down to Boka Wandomi and the limestone bluffs to a natural bridge. A short walk along the rugged north coast will bring you back to Boka Tabla.
The park is open every day of the week from 09.00am – 5.00pm.
$ 5,50 (aprox. €4,92) per person.
Maps with hiking trails are also available at the entrance.
